The Oaken staff is the default equipment for any Mage that joins the party from the Quester's Rest.
Dragon Quest X
The ¥ak staff has an Attack bonus of +3, a Magical Might bonus of +2, a Magical Mending and style bonus of +1, and increases the wielder's weight by 2, as well as having a MP absorption rate of 2%. The staff can be equipped by Mages, Armamentalists, Sages, and Druids. It can be crafted with woodworking.
Dragon Quest Tact
The Oak staff is a D-rank staff that can be acquired as a reward for completing the Staves: Intermediate level. It has a WIS bonus of +6 and two slots for Alchemy Effects.
Trivia
- The official art for the Hero of Dragon Quest V depicts him with this staff. This is the only time the protagonist of a numbered entry in the series is illustrated without a sword as his weapon, and is a subtle allusion to the true identity of V's legendary hero.
