Golden Oldies is a recurring ability in the Dragon Quest series, calling in an angry mob of geezers of all sorts, from thugs to merchants to veterans, in order to bum rush any enemies in the way.

Appearances[edit]

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King[edit]

Golden Oldies can be learned by allocating 100 skill points into Yangus's Humanity skill. When used, he will shout, "Grandad!" loudly to summon King Trode, who although was in the middle of enjoying some canned food, would gladly oblige with a burly crowd right behind him. They will target all enemies and randomly attack them four times, dealing damage equal to 1.2 times Yangus's current level.

Dragon Quest Heroes II: Twin Kings and the Prophecy's End[edit]

"You've done and done it now!"

Golden Oldies appears as Torneko's Coup de Grâce when he is in High Tension mode. He blows a tune from a trumpet that gathers a bunch of Toughies together and after he blows a big note, they charge through him and the enemies in front of them.
