The Floral Parasol (フラワーパラソル Flower Parasol) is a "shield" that debuted in the Nintendo DS remake of Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride. It has a defence bonus of +8, can only be equipped by Debora Briscoletti, and is the only shield she can equip. Despite its low defensive power, the parasol is very slightly better than Bianca and Nera's best shield option, the Scale shield. It can be bought for 1000G at Helmunaptra.

The Floral parasol is also available in the cell phone port of Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen through a code included in the May 2014 issue of V Jump. It provides the same +8 defence bonus as in Dragon Quest V, and can be equipped by all female characters. While of limited use to the female Hero, Maya or Meena, it is the only shield that Alena can equip in any version of Dragon Quest IV.
