- For the monster class in Dragon Quest VII, see DeadNoble (Class).
The Bone Baron (originally Master Necrodain, DeadNoble / Dead Noble in later translations due to display constraints) is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series. Introduced in Dragon Quest IV, it is an undead aristocrat that rides atop an equine monster.
Characteristics
An aristocratic lancer atop a rabid steed is one way to describe a Bone Baron. Its coloring has a strong emphasis on blue in most of its appearances.
The rider and steed that compose the Bone Baron are both monsters but act as a single opponent in battle. The rider performs most of the attacking duties whilst the steed offers it greater mobility.

The DeadNoble can be in the Labres region in Disc 2, the Wind Tower and Wind Maze. There is a rare chance that the DeadNoble will drop a DeadNoble Heart, allowing the player to become a DeadNoble by taking the Heart to the Temple of Dharma.
Dragon Quest VIII
Likely to be first encountered in the Dark Ruins, Bone Barons have the stamina typical of zombies and are strong attackers, making them enemies to be wary of.

Bone Barons appear as rank A members of the zombie family and are useful in obtaining monsters such as Roseguardin and Black Dragon. A Grim Rider and Dark Slime Knight synthesized together is one way to obtain a Bone Baron.
