The Night light (originally Lamp of darkness or Dark lamp) is an item in the Dragon Quest series. It shifts day to night upon use out on the world map (doesn't work in towns or dungeons).
Appearances
Dragon Quest III
First game with the Lamp of darkness (called Dark lamp in the Game Boy Color Version). The lamp is found in the shop at Tedanki and can be obtained during the day. In the NES Version it can't be sold, while in the GBC Version, it will sell for 225 gold coins.
Dragon Quest IV
Found in Chapter 4 by Meena and Maya in Gupta Gupha. It remains in their possession when they join up with the hero at the start of Chapter 5.
Dragon Quest V
Found in the Whealbrook Adit after revisiting during the second generation.
