A Ghoul is an undead enemy in the Dragon Quest series, introduced in Dragon Quest II: Luminaries of the Legendary Line. It has a stronger attack and more HP than a walking corpse, and is able to call for back up if the player is not swift in dispatching it.

Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past 3DS

They appear in the downloadable content traveller's tablet a Poisonous Party as normal enemies, able to dish out decent damage with their normal attacks and capable of poisoning the entire party in a single breath attack.
