Effect

The skull ring is an accessory in the Dragon Quest franchise. "You might want to think twice before wearing it though......"

Note that, in Japanese, there are two seperate accessories which go by the English localization of "Skull Ring". The first is from the remakes of Dragon Quest III, which is called the ヘビメタリング hebī metaringu "Heavy Metal Ring". The other, from Dragon Quest VIII and later appearing in IX and XI, is called the ドクロの指輪 dokuro no yubiwa, which just means "Skull Ring".

Appearances

Dragon Quest III

The Skull ring is an accessory that increases the Agility by +10 and gives the equipped character the personality Lone wolf. It can be found in a chest at the Pirates' Den, in a secret basement outside the house, which is underneath a boulder. It can be sold for 510 Gold coins.

Dragon Quest VIII

The skull ring provides an agility boost of +15, but it is cursed and cuts maximum MP in half. It can be sold for 425 Gold Coins or turned into the Sorcerer's ring through alchemy with two urns of Saint's ashes.

Dragon Quest IX

Dragon Quest XI

The Skull ring is an Accessory of B rarity, obtainable by beating a Wight bulb (1/8 times) in the First forest. It provides a defence boost of +5, as well as a dark damage reduction of 30% and reduces the chances of being instantly killed by 30%. It can be sold for 5000 Gold Coins but cannot be bought.
