The Parchland

The Parchland is the southern strip of Witherwood in Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World.

This barren wasteland is home to the great tree-castle where most of the kingdom's inhabitants reside, as well as the cave containing the last known patch of Leaves of Life.

After being summoned to the kingdom by Fluffy, Bianca and Nera wake up in the Parchland and are taught the finer points of monster wrangling by Fluffy. Only a small portion of the area can be explored at first; to travel beyond the starting area, the girls must first visit Witherwood's Throne Hall and speak to King Withers.
