The leather whip is a recurring whip in the Dragon Quest series. It is usually a low to mid-ranking whip that attack a group of enemies.

Dragon Quest VII
The leather whip has an attack bonus of +25 and a style bonus of +11. It can only be equipped by Maribel and Aishe. It can be purchased from Greenthumb Gardens and the Pilgrim's Rest Inn for 1,300 gold and sold for 650 gold. Leather whips can also be won as prizes from the Lucky Panel at the Casino.
Dragon Quest VIII
The leather whip has an attack bonus of +6. It can only be equipped by Jessica and is part of her initial equipment. It can be upgraded into a snakeskin whip by combining it with a scale shield in the Alchemy Pot.
