The Somatic Staff (also called Staff of Force) is a recurring weapon in the Dragon Quest franchise. It drains the wielder's MP while attacking.

Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation
The Staff of force (Called Force staff in the GBC Version) has an attack bonus of +55 (+65 in the GBC Version). It can be wielded by Priests, Mages & Sages.
It can be purchased for 2,500 gold coins and sold for 1,875.
Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen
The somatic staff has an attack bonus of +60 (+55 in the NES Version). It can only be wielded by Borya, Kiryl, Maya & Meena. Orifiela has this among her equipment.
As with Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation, it can be purchased for 2,500 gold coins and sold for 1,875. It's available for purchase in the towns of Zalenagrad (chapter 5 and 6 only) and Canalot.
Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride
The somatic staff has an attack bonus of +55. It can be bought for 2500 gold coins in the towns of Helmunaptra and Lofty Peak.
