Appearances
Dragon Quest VI
Follow Suit is learned by Spot at level 9. Other characters can learn this by advancing to rank 7 of the Gadabout vocation.
Dragon Quest VII
Retaliate is a hybrid ability learned by advancing to rank 5 as a Martial Artist or Jester immediately after completing them. Maribel also learns Retaliate at level 5 in the PS1 version (she instead learns Bang at level 9 in the remake). In the 3DS version, hybrid abilities no longer exist and this ability was removed from the game entirely - however, Jesters can learn a similar ability named Sobering Slap by advancing to rank 2.
Dragon Quest Monsters
Localized as "Imitate" in this game, it can be learnt by the Float-o-copier amongst others.

Trivia
- In Japanese, the abilities found in Dragon Quest VI (まねまね mane mane) and Dragon Quest VII (しっぺ返し shippegaeshi) have effectively the same effect when used, but entirely different names.
- In Japanese, the Float-o-copier (マネマネ mane mane) has the same name as this ability, except this monster's name is written in katakana instead of hiragana. In addition, this monster is able to learn this ability in Dragon Quest Monsters.
