Microsoft Windows games
From Dragon Quest Wiki
There are three kinds of games for Microsoft Windows: via Steam, via Xbox, and as pure Windows applications.
For Steam, four Dragon Quest installments have been released, as of 2021:
- Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below
- Dragon Quest Heroes II: Twin Kings and the Prophecy's End
- Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age (Later replaced by "XI S Definitive edition")
- Dragon Quest Builders 2
For Xbox, two are sold:
A pure Windows game is: Dragon Quest X, an MMO installment. It can be played only in Japan.
Disadvantage to Japan
Although Dragon Quest games are from Japan, three out of the total four Steam ports cause some trouble to Japan. They can't be purchased if you live in Japan, and/or the Japanese environments are reduced from the original versions (or completely removed). This is an example of the notorious "omakuni" custom.[1]
