Microsoft Windows games
From Dragon Quest Wiki
Dragon Quest series games in Microsoft Windows come as pure Windows software, or via game platforms. The latter comprise Steam, Xbox One, and Epic.
Games relying on a game platform are:
- Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below: Steam
- Dragon Quest Heroes II: Twin Kings and the Prophecy's End: Steam
- Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age: Steam. Later withdrawn from the store, being replaced by the "XI S Definitive edition".
- The Definitive Edition: Steam, Xbox One, Epic
- Dragon Quest Builders 2: Steam, Xbox One
Only one pure Windows game is Dragon Quest X online, an MMO installment. It can be played only in Japan.
Disadvantages to Japan[edit]
Although Dragon Quest games are from Japan, three out of the total four Steam ports cause some trouble to Japan. They can't be purchased if you live in Japan, and/or the Japanese environments are reduced from the original versions (or completely removed). This is an example of the notorious "omakuni" custom.[1]
