The hairy vest is an animal pelt converted into a rugged wrap that has become the default armour for the male Rangers of the series.
Localization history[edit]
The armour けがわのベスト was localized in the ninth game as the slightly plainer-sounding fur vest, and was replaced in the eleventh game with the name hairy vest. The reason for this is unknown as the two English terms are synonymous.
