The Legerdemantle is a recurring robe in the Dragon Quest series. It is designed for monster companions and spellcasters and reduces damage taken from magic spells.
Appearances
Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride
The Legerdemantle has a Defence bonus of +37 and reduces Frizz and Sizz damage by 15. It can only be equipped by certain monster companions.
Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation
The legerdemantle has a Defence bonus of +37, a Style bonus of +10, and reduces Frizz, Sizz, and Bang damage by 15. It can be worn by Milly, Ashlynn, and Nevan.
Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past
The Legerdemantle has the same aspects as in VI. It can only be worn by Maribel Mayde and Sir Mervyn. The robe can be purchased from Greenthumb Gardens in the past the second time, El Ciclo, Spilton-on-Sea, Providence in the past and present, and Nottagen in the present for 4,200 gold coins and sold for 2,100 gold coins. It can also be won as a prize from the Lucky Panel at the Casino.
Etymology
- Legerdemain is another term for slight of hand, as in a stage magician's deft finger movements.
