Setting - North-West Karnaccan Steppe
Roly: Query: Are we nearing our intended destination of Verna by any chance?
Nina: Judging from our current whereabouts, I'd say we'll need to cut through this forest up ahead.
Nina: Then once we arrive in Moneta, we'll need to locate the docks and book passage aboard a ship.
Goopy: Goopy-goop!
Nina: That said, Moneta's still some distance away. How about we stop in Sylvad for a little break
Roly: Nina, may I say that your familiarity with this region is most impressive.
Nina: You could say that... I familiarized myself with the topography of the area, at least.
Roly: Your knowledge will be of great service! Come, [Hero Name]. We have places to be and people to meet!

Setting - Sylvald Forest
Quin: As for you... Are you really [Hero Name]?
Roly: (beep!) You do not recognise your own apprentice!? Perhaps we should ask whether you are [Hero Name]'s real mentor!
Nina: Sir Quin! Please, sheathe your sword.
Quin: Hmph...
Quin: Hahaha! The looks on your faces! I was only pulling your leg!
Quin: There's no mistaking the look in those eyes. You're [Hero Name], no shadow of a doubt.
Quin: I must admit, I'm a little surprised to be crossing paths with you here of all places.
Roly: Standing down alert status ...So, your designation is Quin, captain of the Dragon Wings, correct?
Roly: And implicit in my question is that you are the real Quin, not a fiendish facsimile.
Quin: Hmm... I could tel you yes, but then how would you know for sure? I can't think of a way to prove it.
Nina ...If you truly are Sir Quin, then surely you must know who I am.
Quin: Lady Nina. And there was me foolishly hoping you'd stay somewhere safe.
Quin: But your urge to leap to the aid of others was never one you could control, was it?
Quin: Like when you were young. You always insisted on foraging in the forest for herbs to treat your sister.
Quin: I went with you, of course, but it seems you're still fearless in the face of danger.
Nina: Hehe, I remember that! It really is you, Sir Quin!
Roly: Is this what humans refer to as an emotional reunion? Intriguing...
Quin [Hero Name], your presence here can only mean one thing... You passed the trial. Am I correct?
Quin: In which case, I believe it's due time you show me what you've got.
Quin: Just know, I shall give you no quarter, and I expect none in return. Ready?

Quin: Not bad, [Hero Name]. Not bad at all. By the look of it, my teachings have not been wasted on you.
Quin: You've acquired a few more skills since we last crossed paths, too.
Nina: Heehee.
Quin: Hmm? I'm glad our performance proved entertaining, my lady!
Nina: Forgive me. Only... when you addressed [Hero Name], I sensed warmth behind that stern scowl of yours. It was sweet, really.
Quin: Ahem... Yes, well, that's enough of that!
Roly: Excuse the interruption, [Hero Name], but perhaps now would be the opportune time to give Sir Quin the letter.
Quin: A letter? Let me have a look.
[Hero Name] hands Quin the letter from Zepha.
Quin: ......
Quin: I see. This confirms you passed the initiation. Congratulations, and allow me to extend a proper welcome.
Quin: This long-awaited reunion calls for a celebratory feast!
Roly: I do believe he received the letter with happiness. You must be proud of yourself, [Hero Name]!
Quin: Oh, and Roly, is it? You have my thanks for keeping an eye on [Hero Name] through the trial.
Quin: The letter also mentioned something about an Adventure Log S and the Goddess, but first things first...
Nina: The rift's alpha!
Roly: Come on, [Hero Name]!
Roly: Oh, and captain, it's a pleasure to be fighting by your side!
Quin: Likewise, my spherical comrade!
Quin: The thick of the forest awaits!

Roly: (beep) My sensors are not registering the alpha in the vicinity.
Goopy: Goop-oop!
Nina: What's the matter, Goopy? ...Oh!
Quin: A horde of monsters blocks our path... Conceal yourselves, and let us monitor their movements for a moment.
Robed Figure: ......
Roly: (beep!-beep!) That robed figure looks familiar!
Quin: ......
Nina: We encountered him at Karnaccus. He used a strange sigil to bring an alpha back from the dead and make it stronger.
Nina: But as to his true identity ...we are none the wiser.
Quin: So it's safe to assume his appearance alongside a rift is no mere coincidence.Goopy: Goop-oop!
Nina: Well done, Goopy. Goopy has confirmed the horde is heading farther into the forest. Let's follow them.
Orc: Oi, wot you fink you're up to, eh?
Roly: We've been spotted!
Quin: Leave this one to me. [Hero Name]. You and Lady Nina must not let the robed figure get away!
Roly: Understood, captain!

Robed Figure: Good... Everything is progressing as intended.
Orc Chieftain: Thank you, my lord. The humans grow ever more suspicious of each other.Orc Chieftain: Soon they'll be at each other's throats. It won't be long until the town falls.
Orc Chieftain: And Verna is already within our grasp. Everything is proceeding as planned.
Robed Figure: Indeed...
Nina: Verna...? They must be part of the Dread Fiend's Army!
Roly: What are your orders, [Hero Name]? Do we attack now?
| Yes | No | ||

Roly: Roger that. Let us wait and see what happens... | ||
| Robed Figure: Who's there? | |||
| Robed Figure: Well if it isn't the little rats from before. Can't stop scuttling around, can you? | |||
| Robed Figure: You there! Take care of this vermin. [An animation plays of the Robed Figure using purple magic to disappear] | |||
| Nina: He's gone! | |||
| Orc Chieftain: Guess you'll just have to deal with me! | |||
| Roly: Over to you, [Hero Name]! |

Roly:Keep your chin up. We won't know for certain what has happened until we see Verna for ourselves.
Goopy: Goop-goop!
Nina: You know what, you're right! Thank you, both of you.
Roly: Where is the Captain? Shouldn't he be here yet?
Nina: He IS running a bit late... I hope nothing has happened to him.
(BOOM!)
Nina: By the Goddess! That sounded as if it came from deeper in the forest! [Hero Name], Roly, we should go and investigate.

- Note: There are two separate characters named "Quin?" in this scene. Their talk portraits are identical in appearance, but take turns speaking.
Setting - Sylvald Forest
Quin?: By the Goddess!
Quin?: Egad!
Roly: Two captains!?
Nina: Which can only mean... one of them is the real Quin, and the other is a float-o-copier!
Roly: Calculating... There is a high probability that there are other float-o-copiers besides the one we just defeated.
Roly: The question is, which one is which!? I cannot tell one from the other!
Quin? Lend me thy hand, [Hero Name]! Together we will defeat the imposter!
Quin? I can deal with this by myself! But if you really want to help, be my guest!
Roly: Well, [Hero Name]? should we attack one of them?
| Yes | No | ||
| [Hero Name] Attacks Quin! |
| ||
| Quin?: Gahhh! | |||
| Nina: Oh my! Look! Sir Quin——he's changing! | |||
| Float-o-Copier: Confound it all! Confound it all! I can't believe you saw through my ruse so easily, so easily! | |||
| Float-o-Copier Swarm 'em, Swarm 'em! And don't let your guard down, don't let your guard down! | |||
| Monsters: GRROOOAAAR! | |||
| Roly: Bless my bytes! That's the biggest horde I have ever seen, and they're coming straight for us! | |||
| Quin: Come one, come all! Leave no foe standing, you hear! | |||
| Quin: [Hero Name], leave the small fry to me. | |||
| Quin: And please... Teach that float-o-copier a lesson it won't soon forget! | |||
| Float-o-Copier: In your dreams, your dreams. You're going to regret this, regret this. | |||

| Quin: How are we all? Any injuries? |
| ||
| Nina: Sir Quin! Thank the Goddess you're alright. | |||
| Roly: That was a remarkably large number of opponents. And you took them down single-handed, no less. | |||
| Quin: It was nothing. It doesn't even matter how many there of them there are, small fry ever remain small fry. | |||
| Roly: Engaging admiration circuits... Incredible! Just incredible... | |||
| Quin: As for you, [Hero Name]... | |||
| Quin: Excellent work uncovering the monsters' plot. It fills me with pride to call you one of my students. | |||
| Roly: Query: What would you have done if [Hero Name] had gone for the real you? | |||
| Quin: I figured the fiend would have used it as an opportunity to turn on [Hero Name], and I would have exploited the opening. | |||
| Quin: Thankfully you knew it was me all along, hey? Hahaha! | |||
| Quin: Anyway, enough joking around. The alpha must be somewhere nearby. Keep your wits about you. | |||

Nina: Huh! Behind us!
Monsters: Grrr...
Roly: I do believe we are surrounded!
Phantom Fencer: You will not stand in the way of our grand design! I will see to that myself!
Quin: Another sneak attack by an every-growing horde of minions...? How utterly predictable.
Quin: [Hero Name], you see to the alpha!
Quin: Show me how far you've truly come!
