The bottlenose buckler, also known as the dolphin shield, is a nautically themed shield that appears in Dragon Quest VII. It is named after the Bottlenose dolphin.

The salty safeguard increases defence and style by +28, and cuts the power of Maelstrom and Jolly Rager by 30 points. It can only be equipped by the Hero and Aishe. Bottlenose bucklers can only be acquired from the Casino in exchange for 5,000 tokens.
