The garish garb, also known as the flashy clothes, flashy coat, or glam coat, is a recurring piece of clothing in the Dragon Quest series. It is a gaudy set of clothes typically reserved for sillier characters that provides a surprising amount of protection.

Dragon Quest III

The garish garb has a defence bonus of +28. It can only be equipped by Gadabouts and can be purchased for 1,300 gold at Persistence and sold for 975 gold. Garish garbs can also be dropped by Goodybags. One set can also be found in Pyramid.

Dragon Quest VII

The garish garb has a defence bonus of +28 and a style bonus of +35. It can be equipped by the Hero, Ruff, and Sir Mervyn. It can be purchased at Gröndal for 2,500 gold and sold for 1,250. One set can also be found in Greenthumb Garden in Burdock's mansion in the past, as well El Ciclo and Aeolus Vale in the present. Garish garbs are also dropped by Delusionists and Captain catastrophes.
