The Erdwin Equipment is a set of powerful items from Dragon Quest XI once belonging to the Luminary of Legend, Erdwin. The Hero (Dragon Quest XI), being a reincarnation of Erdwin, is the only one that can equip the items.

Just like Erdwin himself, the set is essentially modeled after the equipment belonging to the Hero of Dragon Quest III, and consists of a cornet, a tunic, and a sword and a shield.

Erdwin's Tunic

The Luminary's most powerful body armor. The tunic can be found on the 1st floor of The Trial of the Luminary - Citadel of Spite. Once the red sigil is broken, the door will lead to a room with three chests, with the middle chest containing Erdwin's Tunic. The other two chests contain Drustan's Armor and Serenica's Surplice.

Erdwin's Tunic has a defense bonus of +120 that can be upgraded up to +150, a Magical Might and Magical Mending bonus of +35 that can be upgraded up to +40, and a charm bonus of +103 that can be upgraded up to +125. It also restores 10 MP per turn and reduces elemental damage by 10%, which can be upgraded up to 20% resistance.

Erdwin's Cornet

Erdwin's Cornet can be found on the 3rd floor of The Trial of the Luminary. Erdwin's Cornet has a defense bonus of +75 that can be upgraded up to +94, and a charm bonus of +105 that can be upgraded up to +125. It also has a chance to prevent instant death, sleep, confusion, and spell-sealing by 25%, which can be upgraded up to 50%.

Erdwin's Shield

Erdwin's Shield can be acquired by giving the Medal King 100 Mini Medals at L'Académie de Notre Maitre des Médailles. It has a defense bonus of +74 that can be upgraded up to +93, and a block chance of +9% that can be upgraded up to +10%. It also reduces fire, ice, and dark damage by 25% and restores 10 MP per turn.

Sword of Light

The Sword of Light is the legendary sword wielded by Erdwin. In the game, there are three different Swords of Light, each varying in properties and strengths.

Sword of Light

The Sword of Light is a forged replica of the Super Sword of Light. After Mordegon steals and corrupts the Super Sword of Light, the party learn thanks to the seedlings in Havens Above how to make another Sword of Light. The materials needed are Orichalcum found in the Overlooked Cavern in The Battleground and the Forging Hammer of Gallopolis. Once the materials are gathered, it is finally forged in The Crucible located in the volcano of Hotto.

The Sword of Light has an attack bonus of +109 and a charm bonus of +50. It cannot be upgraded. It also deals lightning damage and cures an ally of a negative status effect when used as an item.

Although the Sword of Light doesn't have to be used in battle, it is needed to complete the game, as it breaks the barrier around the Fortress of Fear.

Super Sword of Light

The Super Sword of Light is the original Sword of Light that was sealed away in the Heart of Yggdrasil after Erdwin's death. It can only be obtained in the post-game. Once the player beats Jasper, the Luminary successfully acquires the Super Sword of Light.

The Super Sword of Light has an attack bonus of +151 and a charm bonus of +80. Once again, it cannot be upgraded. It also deals lightning damage, has a 3% chance to remove a status buff from an enemy. The Super Sword of Light is also the only weapon that can dispel the darkness surrounding Calasmos.

Supreme Sword of Light

The Supreme Sword of Light is the most third and final Sword of Light and is the powerful one. Unlike the other Swords, the Supreme Sword of Light is completely optional. The player must first obtain the recipe to make the Sword. The recipe is given by Drustan as one of the five wishes for completing the Trials.

Supreme Sword of Light = Sword of Light + Sword of Kings + 2 Crimsonite + 2 Über Agate of Evolution + 2 Spectralite

The Supreme Sword of Light has an attack bonus of +151 that can be upgraded up to +196 and a charm bonus of +94 that can be upgraded up to +100. It also deals lightning damage, has a 3% chance to remove a status buff from an enemy, and cure an ally of a negative status effect when used as an item.
