Jipang (or Zipangu), Dragon Warrior III 's jewel of the east, is ruled by Queen Himiko. Jipang is very reminiscent of ancient Japan in it's architecture, as evidenced by the many torii leading up to Himiko's palace. Jipang has no weapon, armor, or item shops, and outsiders (or outlanders, as they are sometimes called) are rarely seen by the inhabitants due to the islands' isolation from the rest of the world.

Himiko is very weary of foreigners, and for some reason will not defend her town against the many-headed Orochi that resides in the nearby Cave of Jipang. Not many people in the town are happy with Himiko's rule but are so scared of her that they do nothing. Jipang is also the location of the Purple Orb.
