The saviour's staff is a powerful wand that helps heroes take the bite out of a monster's breath attacks when used as an item in battle.

The staff is the reward for turning in 30 mini medals at the Citadel of the Monarch of Medals. Stronger weapons are typically available to the player by the time that many mini medals have been accumulated, but the free Insulatle comes in handy when laying siege on the Dragonlord's Castle at a lower level.

Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past[edit]
In the PlayStation original the staff is sold in the final stage of The Haven for 18,500 gold. It can only be equipped by Sir Mervyn and increases his attack by +103, his style by +60, and drains 3 MP from him each time he smacks a monster with it.
- In the Nintendo 3DS remake, the staff is now sold on the Sea Dragon due to system changes to The Haven.
