Blasto is a recurring spell in the DQSeries.
It tries to remove a single enemy in battle, and if successful then no Experience Points or gold will be counted for the expelled MFamilies at the end of combat. The spell's relationship to Poof is similar to that of Snooze and Kasnooze, being the higher-tier spell that is more accurate.
==Etymology and localization==
Bashiruura is derived from ruura, the Japanese name for the Zoom spell. The meaning behind this is that Zoom is being cast on the user's enemies, hence the total removal from battle. How the spell can be used indoors is never fully explained, with the assumption being that the spell either generates enough force to break through walls and ceilings to expel the target or warps space to teleport the victim away from the caster. The latter interpretation was used in the Dragon Quest Monsters + manga.
On the other side of the Pacific, the spell is unique in that it simultaneously possesses two localization names under Square Enix. First localized as Blasto for the 2005 release of VIII, it was assumed this would be the new term associated with it until the 2011 release of the DS remake of VI. In that script it was dubbed Bazoom, being a more faithful adaptation of the wordplay found in the original Japanese version. In 2014, the Cell phone localization of III reverted back to the Blasto term, which was reverted back from yet again in the remake of VII in 2016. Currently the Blasto name is used in interations of Dragon Quest III & Dragon Quest VIII, with all other instances of Bashiruura being localized as Bazoom.

If characters are hit by the spell they will wind up back at Patty's tavern, though The Hero 3 is immune to the spell until Zoma is defeated in the remakes.
The enemies hades condor, phoenix, crone ranger, great troll, Baramos, and Soul of Baramos can use this spell against the Party 3.

Blasto is learned by Priests and Sages at level 20. Enemies sent flying into the wild blue yonder will not yield experience points or gold, but Thieves still have a chance to steal from them.
Party members banished by the spell will now automatically regroup once battle is over although they will not get any EXP for the fight. As a result, the Hero is no longer immune to Blasto.

Blasto is used by members of the Bird Family (garuda, hell condor, gryphon, dark condor, elysium bird, and phoenix) to remove your monster arena team if you call them into battle. Monsters that have this spell will typically cast it the first turn they have after the MFamilies team is called in.
