Corundum is an item that appears exclusively in Dragon Quest IX. It is a chunk of raw ore containing ruby that is used as an alchemy ingredient.

Corundum can be collected from the Dourbridge region and the Ondor Cliffs, has a 10% chance of being found in Rank 3 (G) blue treasure chests, dropped by Admirers, or received as a reward for repeating Quest #30: Wrapper's Delight. It can also be found randomly in the fountain at a fully upgraded Quester's Rest. It can be sold for 300 gold. Corundum is used for two different alchemy recipes:
