Levizoom is a spell introduced in Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai as an advanced form of Zoom magic which allows the user to fly.
Appearances[edit]
Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai[edit]
As Popp becomes more accustomed to casting Zoom, he attempts to impress his master Matoriv by showing that he's gained enough fine control over its output to freely change speed and direction, even hovering in midair. Instead Matoriv immediately uses the same technique, telling Popp that it's called Levizoom.
Eventually Dai masters Zoom and Levizoom as well, making heavy use of it in his fight with Baran's winged Dragonoid form. However, it is some time before he can execute it without the aid of his Dragon Crest.
Other characters shown levitating, such as the Darkling mage Zaboera, are presumably also casters of Levizoom.
Trivia[edit]
As more of an advanced application of an existing spell, the exact line between Zoom and Levizoom is somewhat blurry, with users apparently being able to shift freely between the two (casting Zoom but then changing direction in midair, or casting Levizoom but becoming surrounded in the white aura of Zoom as they accelerate to high speeds). Starting with Levizoom allows the spell to be cast silently and with less initial energy expenditure, while starting with Zoom provides greater immediate acceleration.
