The Metal slime platter is a recurring shield in the Dragon Quest series. It is a Metal slime version of the Slime shield and part of a series of items throughout the games modeled after the Slime family.
Appearances[edit]
Dragon Quest VIII remake only[edit]
The metal slime platter has a defence bonus of +8, reduces damage taken from non-Zap spells by 5, and can be equipped by all characters. It can be sold for 100 gold, but it is not recommended to do so as only one can be acquired in the game.
The shield was originally available to any Japanese players who had pre-ordered the game from the retailer Yodobashi Camera, eventually becoming available as a special delivery item from March 2nd, 2016 to March 15th, 2016. It was also available to international players for a short time in 2017, but after 2018, all DLC items for the 3DS version became unavailable.
Trivia[edit]
- The metal slime platter appears as a shield in the mobile game Final Fantasy Brave Exvius under the name Metal Slime Shield as part of a cross-promotional event with Dragon Quest Monsters: Super Light. It can be received as a Trust Master Reward from a Liquid metal slime companion.
