The mythril coif is a piece of headwear in Dragon Quest IX. It is the same series of linked rings as the mail coif, but fastened from the legendary mythril for better protection.

Etymology[edit]
- Mythril is fictional metal invented by J. R. R. Tolkien for his Middle-Earth stories.
- Coif is taken from mail coif, the hood of interlocking metal rings worn alongside chain mail.
