It has been depicted in two distinct designs over the years, with the first being a fairly simple staff topped by a figure of a crouching deity with a gaping mouth, presumable from which the ferocious winds billow forth. The modern design is topped with a bronze figure of an angelic woman carrying a bolt of lightning and matches the [[staff of divine wrath]].
