Needle Shot is a recurring ability in the franchise. It fires a needle-thin projectile that has a 1/16 chance to hit the enemy in the soft spot (killing them instantly). Otherwise, the arrow will inflict 1 damage.
Appearances
Dragon Quest VIII
Angelo can use Needle Shot as a bow technique after allocating 25 skill points into the associated skill. Once he masters the skill tree by allocating 100 points, it is replaced by Needle Rain (which launches 3-4 arrows). Both cost 1 MP to use.
Dragon Quest IX
This ability is learned with 35 skill points allocated into Bow skill and costs 1 MP to use.
