The silver mail is a recurring suit of armor in the Dragon Quest series that first appeared in Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride. It is a mid-level suit of armour and typically offers some protection against magical attacks.

Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride
The silver mail has a Defence bonus of +40, but offers no protection against magic. The Hero, his Parry, and Tuppence may wear it. It can be bought at Helmunaptra, Battenburg, and Gotha for 4800 gold, and can be sold for either 3600 gold coins (original version) or 2400 gold coins (remakes).
Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation

Silver mail can be purchased from various shops for 9,100 gold coins and sold for 4,550 gold coins. It can also be won as a prize from the Lucky Panel at the Casino.
