Localization history[edit]

The English name refers to two separate but similar armours in the Japanese language: ぬいぐるみ refers to an animal costume in general while ネコのきぐるみ specifically refers to felines.

Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation[edit]

The cat suit has a defense bonus of +15 in the original version of the game, but it was increased to an impressive +35 in all remake versions of the game. When equipped, it also changes that character's appearance to a humanoid, bipedal cat on the overworld, though this is purely superficial and provides no bonuses in battle. One can be found in a treasure chest in Manoza Cave. It is also occasionally dropped by Vampire cats (1/256 chance) and Catulas (1/128 chance).

It can be equipped by all vocations, and sold for 262 gold coins.
