The dragon's scale, also known as the dragon scale, is a recurring accessory in the Dragon Quest series. It gives a small boost to the wearer's Defence. In games with Alchemy, it can also be used as a crafting ingredient, as well.

Legend has it that the Dragon's scale fell from a Dragon's body a long, long time ago. A light green fossil that fits in the palm of your hand, it has mysterious powers and slightly increases your defensive power. Due to text restrictions, it was named D-Scale in the Game Boy Color remakes.
