The single phial is a recurring healing item in the Dragon Quest series, first introduced in Dragon Quest X. It restores a low amount of MP to a single character. Although they are not sold in any shops, they are not particularly rare and can often be found in barrels, pots, and dropped by various monsters. Their English name is spoken phonetically similar to the phrase "single file".
Appearances[edit]
Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past[edit]
Game | Description |
Restores a little of one party member's HP.[1] |
Single phials appear exclusively in the Nintendo 3DS Version of the game, being found commonly in DLC Tablets and Traveller's Tablets in pots, barrels, and treasure chests, as well as being dropped by bosses. They restore 20~30 MP per use. The English version of the game erroneously states that the single phial restores HP, rather than MP.
Dragon Quest X[edit]
A single phial restores exactly 10 MP and can be purchased in most item shops for 50 gold.
Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age[edit]
Game | Description |
Restores 10 MP to a single ally. Consumed upon use.[2] |
Single phials cannot be purchased from any shop, but they can be found on sparkly spots in some areas and can be dropped by various monsters, including Healslimes, Lamplings, and Sham hatwitches. Both Gemma and Veronica will use single phials to restore a character's MP as NPC party members if someone's MP is falling low. They will restore 10 MP exactly and can be sold for 25 gold.
Dragon Quest Rivals[edit]
The single phial appears as an item card.
Dragon Quest Walk[edit]
Phials restore 30 MP when used.
