Erdrick's helmet is a piece of legendary headgear that first appeared in the original three titles of the series. It is made of blue metal with a knight's face guard bearing the emblem of the legendary phoenix Herself, horns that vary in color depending on the game, and a scarlet ponytail. In addition to it's incredible durability, the helmet also protects the wearer's mind from status ailments.
It was originally only implied that Erdrick's Helmet was a reworking of Ortega's Helm before being confirmed in Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake, under the name of the Auroral Helm.
Appearances
Dragon Quest
Although there is no dedicated slot for headgear in the equipment menu of the original game, official illustrations of the Hero always depict the helmet being worn alongside Erdrick's armour, so it can be assumed that the helmet and armor are acquired and worn as a set.
