Erdrick's Shield
Erdrick's shield is an infallible guard against all many of blows, protecting the Hero of legend and his descendants from danger even in the most dire circumstances. It is a heater shield made of a blue metal with a golden trim and an emblem that resembles the legendary phoenix , with rune-markings near the top that spell out the name "Roto". Prior to its association with Erdrick, the shield was known as the Hero's shield.

The shield is one of the artefacts stolen from Cantlin by the monster Spiketail, who absconded with them to it's lair on the Weeping Isle.

Erdrick's shield is found in the castle of Cannock, watched over by an old sage in the center of the building's pond. The Golden Key is required to enter the tiny islet. Once obtained, the shield will boost the Prince of Midenhall's Defence by +30.

Super Smash Bros. UltimateEdit
The Erdrick's shield is used by the Hero if the player selects the protagonist of the third game. A Mii Swordfighter can also carry the shield if they are using Erdrick's equipment.
Dragon Quest TactEdit
Erdrick's Shield is an S-rank shield that can be obtained as part of the Japan-only True Dragon Quest II event by clearing "Lady Rubiss's Legacy Trial" on the EX difficulty. It has a Defense bonus of +15, rarely raises a unit's Martial Res at the start of each action, and has three slots for Alchemy Effects.
TriviaEdit
- The shield originally bore a different set of runes when it was known as the Hero's shield, meaning Erdrick inscribed his title upon it some time after his journey came to an end.
