The Shimmering Shield is a shield in Dragon Quest V and Dragon Quest VII that can only be found in a single chest in the post-game dungeon Estark's Labyrinth. It has a defence bonus of +65, and reduces damage from all fire and ice attacks (both spells and breath attacks) by 20 points. It can only be equipped by the hero. It cannot be bought or sold.
