Unrelenting Force

Unrelenting Force, also know as Devil Finesse, is a recurring skill in the Dragon Quest series. It is a skill common to Nokturnus and his pallet-swap variants in which they divide their double-bladed sword and deliver a series of slashes at blinding speed.

AppearancesEdit

Dragon Quest XEdit

Unrelenting Force is used by Nokturnus once his HP falls below 50%. It attacks a single character seven times, each dealing between 500~600 damage each.

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive AgeEdit

Unrelenting Force goes unnamed in the eleventh game but is used by Indignus, Darkest despair, Bathysfear, and Master commander. It delivers seven attacks to the entire party at 75% damage each, effectively being an enemy version of Sword Dance. When used, the in-game text states that the monster "readies his blades! [He] cuts loose with a series of slashes!"

Dragon Quest Monster Battle Road II LegendEdit

Unrelenting Force makes its debut as a special skill that is used by Nokturnus in his second form. It deals heavy strike and blast damage to the entire party.

Dragon Quest TactEdit

Known as Devil Finesse in this game, the skill can be learned by Nokturnus at Level 54 and costs 80 MP to use. It inflicts 75% potency physical damage to random enemies in a rectangular area of effect in front of him five times and can rarely lower their DEF. Upgrading the skill increases its damage and reduces the amount of MP it costs to use.
