Spiked armour
The spiked armour, also known as the Swordedge armor and Blade armor, is a recurring suit of armor in the Dragon Quest series. It causes 25% recoil damage on any attacker. In all its depictions, the spiked armour has a blue cloth emblazoned with a yellow cross on the front.
Appearances
Dragon Quest III
The spiked armour has a defence bonus of +55. One set of it can be found in Gondo Cave and can't be sold in the NES Version.
In the SNES and GBC versions, it can be purchased at a shop at the Pachisi Board in Kol for 6,500, and sold for 4,875.
Dragon Quest IV
The spiked armour has a defence bonus of +50. It has a 50% chance to reflect 25% damage to the attacker. The secret armour store in Endor sells this. It can be equipped by the Hero, Ragnar, Torneko, and Psaro.
Dragon Quest V
The spiked armour once again has a defence bonus of +55.
Dragon Quest VII
The spiked armour has a defence bonus of +55 and a style bonus of +15. It can be equipped by the Hero and Aishe. It can be purchased from the Immigrant Town when it has 30-34 people for 6,500 gold and sold for 3,250 gold. It can also be won as a prize from the Lucky Panel at Buccanham's Casino.
Dragon Quest VIII
The spiked armour has a defence bonus of +68. Only the Hero and Yangus can equip it. It can be made using the Alchemy Pot.
