The Long Spear is a recurring weapon in the Dragon Quest franchise. It is a mundane but effective mid-game spear.

The long spear has an attack bonus of +30, and may be purchased in Simpleton for 1,700. It is also dropped by Orc Kings at a 1/64 rate and by Octopus sentries at 1/256. it can also be created through alchemy via the following recipe: Cypress stick + Cypress stick + Iron lance.
