Fancy Force Field is a recurring skill in the series. It is a defensive skill used by the more technologically sophisticated members of the Machine family, generating a protective barrier that reduces damage taken.

Dragon Quest X[edit]
Fancy Force Field cuts all damage taken by the user by 15 points for thirty seconds. It can be used by Masqueraiders, A3G15es, and Vicious masqueraiders. The version used by Vicious masqueraiders is more effective, reducing damage taken by 50 points.
- In the Offline version of the game, the skill now reduces damage taken by 10%.
Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age[edit]
Fancy Force Field has improved significantly, now raising the machine's Defence and spell resistance by one stage each for 4~6 turns. It can once again be used by Masqueraiders and A3G15es.
