Dragon Quest Heroes: Torneko's Mystery Dungeon -Classic HD- is a remastering of the original Torneko no Daibōken: Fushigi no Dungeon released exclusively in Japan in 1993 for the Super Famicom, which was the inaugural title for the entire Mystery Dungeon genre. It is the first entry in the Dragon Quest series branch of the genre in 20 years, with the previous being Dragon Quest: Shōnen Yangus to Fushigi no Dungeon for the PlayStation 2 in 2006.
New features
- The game is referred to as -Classic HD- to distinguished it from the HD-2D titles. It utilizes the same character, object, and effect assets from the 1993 original, but the environment is presented in a 2.5D format for a greater sense of depth. A new text box and sharper font have been implemented for all versions of the game.

Trivia
- The game is similar to Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry's Wonderland RETRO in that it uses much of the original version's presentation while adapting the title to modern hardware.
