Dragon Quest VII Remake and Dragon Quest X Unlikely To Be Released Worldwide
There was no news regarding Dragon Quest at the E3 gaming expo in June of 2014. Dragon Quest VII for Nintendo 3DS and Dragon Quest X for Wii U and PC are very unlikely to see a worldwide release.

Square Enix Shuts Down Dragon Quest Online Services
In May of 2014, Nintendo and Square Enix have shut down all online services which were available for Nintendo DS and Nintendo Wii games. This includes the DQVC for Dragon Quest IX.
Square Enix and Nintendo Abandon Dragon Quest in North America
As of 2013, Square Enix and Nintendo have abandoned Dragon Quest in North America and Europe, based on the poor sales of Dragon Quest X on the Wii U in Japan. No titles have been identified as in development with a targeted western release. Due to mis-management and the poor decision in making Dragon Quest X an online-only, subscription game, North America and Europe are entering a second "dark age" for Dragon Quest similar to 1992-1999. This wiki has moved into a mostly hibernation state due to lack of new available content. All of the momentum generated by the strong Dragon Quest IX sales in the summer of 2010 has been wasted by a Square Enix team that could not capitalize on its success in the larger western market.
