The platypup is a monster that combines canine traits with those of waterfowl, resembling a platypus that has eschewed the amphibious life style for a terrestrial one by developing sturdier legs and a fluffy tail. This beast is notable for being the first wholly original monster created since the passing of Akira Toriyama on March 1st, 2024.
Characteristics[edit]
Platypups resemble dachshunds with longer legs and a denser, puffier coat of brown fur. The fur above their eyes, bills, and prosternum are cream colored, giving them the impression of having large bushy eyebrows, mustaches, and beards. They possess eyes and bills similar to those of platypunks, hence their name, but their canine attributes give them a friendlier disposition towards humans. Due to their short legs, their underbellies often have scrapes and they enjoy having their tummies rubbed by people to ease the pain. That being said platypups are still monsters and possess more power than any normal animal, being able to shatter rocks just by pecking at them.
Despite their body being mostly dog-like, the platypunks quack instead of bark.
