Princess Gwaelin

Daughter of King Lorik, Gwaelin (also known as Laura or Lora in other versions) was kidnapped by the Dragonlord six months prior to the coming of the hero in the first Dragon Warrior. Once rescued by the hero, she bestow's her love upon him, which acts as a compass by giving the north/south and east/west coordinates from Tantagel Castle for the hero's current location on the overworld map. After the events of 'Dragon Warrior', the hero and Gwaelin get married and settle in Torland. They have three children, who establish the kingdoms of Midenhall, Cannock, and Moonbrooke. 100 years later, their descendants become the heroes of Dragon Quest II
