Shrine North of Beran

The Shrine North of Beran is a lonely mountain shrine hidden away in the valley far to the north of the floating city of Beran.

AppearancesEdit

Dragon Quest II: Luminaries of the Legendary LineEdit

The shrine is a teleportal hub that connects to Gwaelin's Gate, the Shrine of Flames, & the Shrine West of Moonbrooke. Standing in the shrine is an old man who warns that the serenity found in the Hall of Hargon is but an illusion, and that the player need seek the said of the Goddess Rubiss to persevere. Outside the shrine is a strongman who complains that the teleportals connected to this shrine all require the golden key to exit on the other sides.

Dragon Quest II HD-2D RemakeEdit

The shrine has been altered to appear far more ancient than in previous versions of the game, and sits atop a large pond. The area surrounding the shrine is filled with stone structures that have fallen to ruin, such as ball finials, braziers that have become birdbaths, and toppled stone arch fencing. The teleportals have been replaced with three treasure chests that require the thief's key, magic key, & ultimate key to open. The old man now warns the Scions of Erdrick of how Hargon conquered the frozen kingdom of Rendarak in a single night, and how none know of what has become of the nation since. The strongman outside the shrine now informs the group that they are just south of the Isle of the Monarch of Medals.
