The Isle of the Monarch of Medals is a new location created for the HD-2D remake of Dragon Quest II, serving as the home of the Maharaja of Medals and exchange hub for the also-newly added mini medal system. It is just west of the Oasis and can be visited as soon as the Scions of Erdrick obtain their ship in Rippleport.

Dragon Quest II HD-2D Remake[edit]

The isle is an open atoll covered in lush tropical vegetation reminiscent of Dominicus' Dominion in Dragon Quest IV, though this island is maintained by a series of servants and resembles a stately garden. Beyond the central palace, there is a viewing gazebo to the north, a dock to the south, and a statue of a medal king peering through a telescope, presumably the Maharaja's ancestor. A large statue of a mini medal is set on a cliff in front of the isle's dock, informing visitors of the Maharaja of Medals' priorities. In addition to serving as the mini medal hub, the isle provides inn, banking, & church services.

The Maharaja has hidden five mini medals on his island for visitors to find so that they may discover the join of medal hunting for themselves, a habit his servants find peculiar.
