AppearancesEdit
Dragon Quest II: Luminaries of the Legendary LineEdit
The shrine is home to a Priest who informs the player of the importance in obtaining the false idol statue, and offer guidance in how to obtain it by pointing out that the moonshard is necessary to access the Volcanic Grotto. His instructions are even clearer in the Android/iOS ports, where he tells the layer to visit Slewse as a lead to obtain the moonshard.
Dragon Quest II HD-2D RemakeEdit
The Priest now asks the Scions of Erdrick if they fear the darkness, owing to changes to the game's structure that guide players to the false idol. Regardless of how the party answers, he will tell them of an ancient hero who also stood against a fathomless darkness and received protection from a white-winged wonder. How the Priest knows of this legend when so many of the details of Erdrick's tale have been lost to time is left to the player's imagination, and he will have special dialogue if spoken to during the true ending of the game. Additionally there is also a friendly slime living in the shrine.
