Introduced in Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past, Klepto Clobber is a Thievery skill that allows a character to try and swipe an item while smacking a foe.
Appearances[edit]
Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past[edit]
Any character can learn Klepto Clobber by reaching rank 8 of the Thief Vocation. It costs no MP to use and works by doubling the drop rate of a monster's item, meaning that if a Slime has a 1/16 chance of dropping a Medicinal herb then a character has a 1/8 chance to steal it.
It can also be used by the enemies Pilferer and Bag snatcher.
Dragon Quest VII Reimagined[edit]
Klepto Clobber is learned at rank 1 of the Thief vocation. It costs 2 MP and deals normal damage to one enemy with a chance to steal that monster's normal item based on the character's Deftness attribute. The success rate is calculated as Deftness X 0.1 + 12.5%, capping at 80%, meaning even characters with a lousy Deftness attribute still have a higher chance to steal an item compared to that bauble's normal drop rate. Rare items cannot be filched, and boss monsters cannot be stolen from at all.
Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker[edit]
Klepto Clobber can be learned from various skill trees.
- Bounty Hunter (5 points)
- Captain Crow (8 points)
- Huntsman (30 points)
- Thief (17 points)
Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2[edit]
Klepto Clobber can be learned from all the skills it could be previously.
