The party dress is a recurring piece of clothing in the Dragon Quest series that first appeared in the SFC remake of Dragon Quest III. It is a fancy red dress that can only be worn by female characters and provides a surprising amount of protection.

Appearances

Dragon Quest III

The party dress has a defence bonus of +40 and can only be worn by thieves and gadabouts. One can be found in Edina, and another in Cantlin, and can be sold for 8,850 gold coins. It only appears in the remakes.

Dragon Quest VII

The party dress has a defence bonus of +40 and a style bonus of +48. It can only be equipped by Maribel and Aishe and can be purchased from the Premium Bazaar final evolution of the Immigrant Town for 11,800 gold and sold for 5,900 gold. One can be found in Hubble in the present and they can be dropped by hellstalkers. They can be won as prizes from the Lucky Panel at the Casino.
