Total War Cry, also known as Violent Roar, is a recurring skill in the Dragon Quest series. It is a stronger version of the standard War Cry that can damage, stun, and even knock back enemies with an intense roar.

Appearances[edit]

Dragon Quest X[edit]

Total War Cry can be used by various monsters and bosses, such as Hellion, Draguar, and Gaia dragon. Depending on the enemy, it can either inflict damage, simply knock back characters, or even frighten and knock down characters.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Super Light[edit]

Total War Cry can once again be learned by various monsters. It costs 24 MP to use, inflicts damage to all enemies, and has a chance to prevent them from acting.

Dragon Quest Rivals[edit]

Total War Cry was introduced in the 5th card pack, "Heroic Tales of Bravery" as a normal skill exclusive for Martial Artist leaders. It costs 5 MP to use and would return all enemy units in the front row with 4 attack power or less to their hand.

Total War Cry appears as a skill that can be learned by Marquis de Léon and Orochi at 5★ rarity or higher. It inflicts physical damage with ignore DEF to all enemies and inflicts stop for three turns.
