In the Dragon Quest III remakes, tomboy is a female-only personality that improves strength and agility growth, but reduces resilience, wisdom, and luck growth.
The hero cannot become a tomboy at the start of the game.
Other female party members have a chance to be a tomboy when recruited as any class, depending on their stat bonuses.
An existing female character becomes a tomboy permanently by reading the The Girl's Own Annual book.
